Each state has it’s own medical card program with it’s own unique requirements. You can learn about your state’s specific requirements by visiting our states guide.
All states require a doctor’s certification from a registered doctor. Here at Green Mind, we offer quick, online appointments with friendly doctors. Once you receive your certificate, you submit it along with your application to the state. Voila!
Each of the states we serve, including Maryland, Michigan, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Oregon, allow patients to apply to become medical cardholders online. In the past, we had to do physician evaluations in person and snail mail all completed documents.
The application process has changed over time, and now the entire process is digital. Depending on the state, you may even be emailed a temporary certification while you wait on your physical ID!
Again, it varies from state to state (check your state’s guide). In general, you will need a proof of identity, proof of residency, and a physician’s letter of recommendation (that’s what we give you!). Some states require a passport style photo as well.
You should expect to spend about 15 minutes completing our registration forms, and about 15 more minutes speaking with one of our doctors. After your appointment, you will need to submit your paperwork to the state.

I know we keep saying this, but… it depends on the state! Most states will mail you a wallet card in about 3-4 weeks. Luckily, some states send a temporary card through your email so you can begin visiting dispensaries right away.
